Addendum to New Braunfels in December

Just came here to add a few pictures and to say that you and your dad are my absolute favorite people to hang out with. Having dinner and dessert and looking at Christmas lights with you two was just perfect, I would do it again a thousand times over. When you’re older, I hope your dad tells you all about the magic of the lights and how they bring people happiness and warmth in the darkest, coldest month of the year.  Love you both so much! -Mom

Thanksgiving pt. 2

We had a late Thanksgiving celebration on the Saturday after and you got to meet your Aunt Adela and Uncle Johnny (Juan) for the first time. When you were tired from the drive up to Austin, you could only get cozy and fall asleep with Aunt Adela; she thinks that’s because she looks the most like Mommy. Then on Sunday your favorite cousin Aery came to see you and brought along your cousin Lizzy and her boyfriend Taylor to meet you for the first time. You let them sleep in your room because you’d rather sleep in Mom and Dad’s room anyway. Your family loves you very much bebesito.

New Braunfels in December is Charming

Today you were my wingman on a little date with your mom! We went out for Chinese food, and you did such a good job at the restaurant! Afterwards, we went to 2tarts Bakery, a super cute bakery in downtown New Braunfels that is notable currently because the owner is competing on a Food Network competition show that your mom is watching. I think it was there that you saw your first ever Christmas Tree. You were mesmerized by it. Your mom loves this time of the year, so I’m super excited to see that you have that in common with her. We went for a walk through downtown afterwards to look at the holiday lights. You were a big fan! We drove around our neighborhood on the way home to look at more lights and to get inspiration for decorating our house for the season.  When we got home we watched A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Peanuts Movie, and we all napped. It was a great day. I love you both so much. -Your Dad, Kerry

Your First Thanksgiving!

We had a great Thanksgiving together at the house! We had the food catered from my work, so mom and I could spend time with you and each other instead of cooking, and it was definitely worth it. We read a lot, watched Baby Einstein and Land Before Time, napped and hung out, and it was perfect. I am so thankful for my life, because of you and your mom. Thanks for being my family! Love you so much! -Your Dad, Kerry

Family Photos

You did such a great job at the portrait session this week! Even your angry picture is ADORABLE! Our family is perfect, and I’m so thankful for you both! I’m excited to grow and learn with you and your mom. I love you! -Your Dad, Kerry

A Busy Few Days!

We had some really fun adventures the last two days! On Wednesday, we went to a story time event at the New Braunfels Public Library’s new Westside Branch. You had a good time and mostly people-watched the other babies and their moms. Then we headed to Historic Market Square in Downtown San Antonio to do a bit of shopping. It’s one of my favorite places, and I was so excited to take you there! That evening, mom and I made fajitas and we hung out at home. On Thursday, we went to a baby massage/yoga class in the morning at the New Braunfels Public Library’s main branch, and networked with some other parents so we can find more fun activities to do together.  Afterwards we noticed a leather-bound copy of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy for sale at the library’s bookstore. That’s one of my all-time favorites, so we picked it up and read a few chapters together. I hope you love it as much as I do! Mom and I had a date night at a concert in Austin, and you got to spend time wi...

2 Months

Brooklyn, Brooks, BK, Baby B, Bambi, Goob, you are the light of our lives. You are getting so big. Did you see how tall you are?? 25 inches and in the 99th percentile!  You still love to eat and sleep and are actually sleeping 4-5 hours at night. We read every day, you love looking at the pictures and hearing Mommy and Daddy read the words. You also like movies and shows now that your eyes can focus on them, anything with lots of color gets your attention, Tinkerbell is one of your faves. Dad bought you a nebula light and you just stare up at the ceiling in awe of the colors.  You still don’t love the cold and really don’t like car rides, you usually cry the entire time which makes me sad but I’m trying to figure out how to make them better for you. You’re our little bestie. You and your dad especially. You always smile and get excited when you see him. I think it’s because you’re basically a mini version of him, which is my favorite. We love you to the moon and back, So...

Happy 2 Month Birthday

You’re two months old today! Time sure flies by in the blink of an eye. It feels like just yesterday I was sleeping on the tiny couch-sleeper in your mom’s hospital room waiting to meet you! You’re growing so much every day, and developing your unique personality. It’s amazing to watch. I try and read to you whenever we can. We are reading Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Links. Your paternal great grandmother LOVED Agatha Christie, especially Hercule Poirot. It’s one of the reasons I love to read and write. I hope you enjoy listening to me read it as much as I enjoy reading to you. Your mom is doing such an amazing job. I am in complete awe with how great she is at loving and growing you. She’s my hero. You’re so lucky that you get her for a mom. You got accepted into the good daycare in town. We are excited! You start in January. You’re so handsome. You definitely get the good looks from your mom. I’m so proud to be your dad! I adore you, baby Brooklyn! -your Dad, Kerry
