Sick Days

Your first week of daycare got you sick for the first time.
It’s just a cold, but we feel so bad seeing you congested and struggling.

We kept you home from daycare on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday, it was just you and me, since mom is back at work.

We watched cartoons and slept for most of the day.

You’re such a tough kid; I’m not sure where you get that from. You look at mom and smile after every cough or sneeze, as if to reassure her that you’re okay.

You’re such a good son, we both love you so much!

Tomorrow you have a checkup at the pediatrician.

I hope you feel better soon!

-Your Dad, Kerry

Fall Fun

We’ve been keeping busy this month! We watched your Uncle Kyle coach your two cousins in soccer, and got to spend some time with Uncle Kris before his move to Minnesota. We spend an afternoon at the Uhland Fall Festival where you played in a hammock, hung out with some cute animals in the petting zoo, and played in a giant corn pit! We drove to San Antonio and participated in a candlelight vigil organized by The Esparanza Center in support of Palestine, and you met one of my oldest friends, Alvaro! You sometimes stand on your own now, and are more curious than ever! You are growing your canine teeth, which is great news, because you LOVE eating steak! Tomorrow you are going to get your very first haircut ever! You are the best thing that has ever happened to our family, and we love you so much! -Your Dad, Kerry

Brooklyn Walks

You are really growing into such an amazing person, Brooklyn! You are very confident with walking now. You especially love walking into your daycare classroom by yourself so your friends can see how grown up you are. At home one of your favorite things to do is to stand by our record player and dance while listening to records. Music brings me joy as well. I’m so happy to share that with you! Before the pandemic, I modified a portable turntable into a pretty awesome scratch instrument, and recently I showed you how it works. Now you point to it everyday and ask to scratch records. I hope you have that hobby for a long time, so that I can share that with you also! You’re such a joyous human being. You find the humor in everything, and literally wake up laughing most mornings. You definitely take after your mother in this way. You are both lightning rods for happiness. I sometimes feel like I am too repetitive with what I write here, but, one day you will hopefully read this and wh...
